A master´s degree gives you a career path with great flexibility

After finishing two years of study the student will have a university degree in - Master of Science with a major in International Administration and Global Governance – from the University of Gothenburg.

After finishing your studies you should apply for your degree. You apply for your degree at the Section of Degrees.

Job and career

The programme seeks to provide the skills and knowledge needed to formulate, analyze and evaluate policy related to governance in a global perspective. It provides you with theoretical insights as well as the practical skills and knowledge to work in organisations involved in international issues. These are skills that are valuable for both you and your future employer.

Employment as high as 90 percent

An alumni survey was conducted in March 2014. Here are the main findings:

• Six months after graduation, 90 % of those who responded to the survey had secured employment or were enrolled in a trainee or educational program.
• The three most common employment sectors are governmental organizations (23 %), private companies (21 %) or universities (18 %), while others have begun their careers at international organizations, NGOs or foundations and think tanks.
• A full 41 % of the respondents today live in different country from their country of origin.

The alumni network

There is an alumni network for all former students at the University of Gothenburg. The IAGG programme and the Department of Political Science hope to maintain and develop a social and professional network with previous students.
