Six EEA-students will be admitted to double degree studies at each university, two from each master's programmes.

  • Master´s Programme in international Administration and Global Governance
  • Master´s Programme in Political Science

Applications must be submitted to universityadmissions.se or antagning.se no later than January 15. Applications can only be submitted to the first round application.

Entrance requirements and selection

The entrance requirements and selection is based on the same grounds as to our regular Master's programmes. For complete information, see each programme here. Note that we only consider your application complete if you have attached a CV and a Statement of Intent. For requirements on these documents see the link above.

English language proficiency

In order to be eligible for this double degree-option, you must demonstrate that you have meet the English requirements for the programme. There are three ways of doing this: Upper secondary (high school) studies, previous university studies or internationally recognised English tests. Read more about how to fulfill the language requirements at universityadmissions.se.

Accept your place if you are admitted

If you are admitted to the double degree option you must accept your place as soon as possible and preferably no later than July 15 (due to the strained accommodation situation in Konstanz). You do this in three steps:

  1. Accept your place at universityadmission.se (or antagning.se if you applied through the swedish website)
  2. Inform the University of Konstanz. You then submit the following documents to the University of Konstanz:
    - your CV
    - your Statement of Intent
    - an official transcript or grade report
    - proof of English Language proficiency (see above)
The documents should be sent to Werner Palz, ma.polver@uni-konstanz.de, specifying "Gothenburg-Konstanz double degree studies" in subject of the e-mail.
  3. Inform the University of Gothenburg. Do this by putting exchange@pol.gu.se, as a copy in your e-mail to Werner Palz.

The second year of studies

All students, both swedish and german, must apply for their courses for the second year no later than April 15. The procedure is a bit different depending on which university you are admitted through. You will get directions on how to apply from your student counselor in Gothenburg in the beginning of April.
