University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill (UNC-CH)

Situated in the beautiful old college town of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, United States, UNC-CH has earned a reputation as one of the best universities in the US. As a student in the research triangle of Chapel Hill, Raleigh and Durham you will have access to a strong academic tradition.

The city of Chapel Hill is situated just a few hours south of Washington DC and the heart of US politics. According to The Guardian Chapel Hill is one of the best small cities in the US, deeply colored by its pride – UNC-CH.

The combination between UNC-CH's alumni and connections in places such as Washington D.C. and the University of Gothenburg's connections in places like Brussels gives you the advantages of both for your career.

Double degree

From the autumn semester 2018 we offer a double degree with UNC-CH. Three students from Gothenburg and Chapel Hill respectively will be given the opportunity to study their first year at UNC-CH and their secound year at the University of Gothenburg.

Center for European Studies

The Center for European Studies (CES) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH) has long offered extensive courses on contemporary European studies that draw on faculty expertize at the university from a range of disciplines. CES is one of only five US institutions to be recognized as a National Resource Center by the US Department of Education and as a Jean Monnet Center of Excellence by the European Union. Chartered in 1789, UNC is one of the oldest public universities in the United States, and is consistently ranked among the top public colleges and universities in the country.

 

Student Groups without borders

We are happy that the Student Groups at both University are active and vibrant. Since the fall semester 2018 the Gothenburg based group Brännpunkt Europa and the UNC-CH based European Horizons at Carolina has started an interesting collaboration.
