Centre for European Studies (CES)

What does Brexit mean? What consequences has the increased migration to Europe had for the EU cooperation? What does it mean to be European? If these are questions that raise your commitment, European Studies is something for you!

About the Center for European Studies

The Center for European Studies is a multidisciplinary cooperation between nine university disciplines that together form the basis for the subject of European Studies. We offer the three-year European Programme (only given in Swedish) and the two-year Master's Programme in European Studies and a two year half-time basis Executive Master's Programme in European Studies, as well as a wide range of free standing courses. There is also the possibility of exchange studies, double degree and internship.

Why should you study with us at the Centre for European Studies?

  • Multi-disciplinarity – nine different subjects all collaborate within European Studies
  • Committed and accessible teachers and staff – we care about your future
  • Internships – we have a well-organised system for students to do internships as part of their education
  • Exchange studies – we have plenty of options if you wish to study abroad for part of your education
  • Our former students can be found all over Sweden, Europe, and the world.

We also offer three double degree options

  • Konstanz (Germany). In English. Apply by April 15 (Swedish/EU/EES students)
  • Chapel Hill (United States). In English. Special application procedure (Swedish/EU/EES/International students)
  • Fudan (China). In English. Applicants from within the Master’s Programme in European Studies – Social Science Track.
