Gothenburg the city

The Department of Political Science is located in Campus Haga, which lies right in the centre of the city of Gothenburg – a dynamic city in the know-ledge economy. Research is conducted here in many different fields, such as artificial intelligence, where the University of Gothenburg cooperates with Chalmers University of Technology.

Gothenburg recently embarked on its biggest growth spurt in modern history. The city is expanding to make room for 150,000 new residents – 80,000 new homes and as many workplaces by 2035. Gothenburg already offers a wide variety of cultural activities and shopping, plenty of cafés, bars and restaurants, and immediate proximity to Sweden’s West Coast with its glorious archipelago.
