New option: Three elective courses in European studies

Now we present three courses as electives for students of the Master's Programme in European Studies, Europaprogrammet or for anyone taking courses at the University of Gothenburg.

The courses run on half-pace during late afternoons or early evenings and is easily combined with compulsory course work within regular study programs.

EU1400 Practical EU-knowledge, 15 credits

In this course you will learn:
• how the EU works in practice by focusing on a real case of your own choice
• how to access documents from EU institutions
• how to write a professional case report and give an oral presentation

This unique course is developed in cooperation with the European Documentation Centre (EDC), at the University library.

EU2411 Rebuilding Europe: A Cross-Country Collaboration, 7.5 credits

This is a advanced level course, in this course you will learn:
• Knowledge of the institutional relationships in the European Union with respect to occasionally competing principles, such as democracy, efficiency, transparency.
• The balance of power between national, regional and European levels.
• Collaboratively work with students at other European studies centers abroad.

This course is a cross-campus partnership, joining students and professors from: the University of Gothenburg, Charles University in Prague, and Sciences Po, Paris.

EU1150 Russia between past and future, 15 credits

In this course you will learn:
• The history of Russia to the revolution in 1917
• The rise and dissolution of the Soviet Union
• The development of the post-Soviet Russia up to now
• And many more facts, including many scientific discussions of former and contemporary Russia
