About Amanda Linell

I am a PhD student at the Political Science Department, University of Gothenburg, affiliated at the Center for Collective Action Research (CeCAR). I have from previous a double bachelor's degree in political science and environmental science, with a special focus on environmental politics. I also have a master's degree in political science from University of Gothenburg.

I am currently involved in a research project studying the challenges and opportunities of achieving collective action in transnational reserves in sub-Saharan Africa. The project aims to examine how transnational institutions potentially can steer resource user's behavior and thereby prevent poaching activities.

My research interests concerns in general collective action and natural resource management in sub-Saharan Africa, with a specific focus on the role of informal and formal institutions as well as states' capacities in making people comply with rules and regulations.
