University of Konstanz

This double degree option is ideal for students interested in an internationally-orientated and interdisciplinary course of study. All programmes/specializations offer a number of electives and provide a solid base in both quantitative and qualitative methods. A maximum of six students from each university will spend the first study year at Konstanz and the second year at Gothenburg. Upon successful completion of these studies, students are awarded a master's degree from each university.

Each department offers internationally renowned teaching and research, small seminars and direct contact with teaching staff. The studies prepare students for entering the job market or for continuing on to Ph.D studies. The possibility to participate in research projects during the programme is a stepping stone for a career in academia. Each programme provides an excellent foundation for a national or international career in the private or public sector.

Moreover, the alumni network of the University of Konstanz provides jobs database for when students look to start a career in the private sector or with an international organization, national government, civil service or non-governmental organization. Students can also use this database in establishing contact with presumptive employers for an Erasmus internship to add work experience to the Diploma supplement of their degree certificate.

There are several advantages to studying the double degree option, including: broadened experience by studying at two universities in two different countries; a pre-approved study programme, making course approvals simpler once successfully completed; and opportunities to learn or improve another language.
