Areas of interest

My research interest is focussed on political cleavages, that is the association between social position and political attitudes or voting, and how these associations vary with contextual factors such as welfare politics, party systems and political institutions, both in Sweden and in a comparative perspective.

Current research

Participation in the the research program Social class and political attitudes. A study of the political impact of experiences in working life (Social klass och politiska attityder. En studie av den politiska effekten av erfarenheter i arbetslivet) financed by the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet), headed by Tomas Berglund, Department of Sociolgy, University of Gothenburg.

Participation in the research project Välfärd i Europeiska valrörelser: En databas om politiska kontexter (The Welfare State in European Election Campaigns: A Political-Contextual Data Set) financed by FAS, project leader Staffan Kumlin, University of Gotheburg.

Participation in the research project Inte bara populism. Xenofobiska partiers uppkomst och framgång i ett Rokkanskt perspektiv (Not just populism. Xenofobic parties from a Rokkean perspective ) financed by Swedish Research Council (VR), project leader Marie Demker University of Gotheburg.

Teaching and tutoring

My teaching is mainly in European Studies and Political Science together with supervision on all levels from Ba to PhD
